Commanders of the occupiers sent their soldiers to their deaths during the battles for the Vovchansk Aggregate Plant. Despite the hopelessness of the situation, they still forced the invaders to resist.
This was reported by Andrii Cherniak, a representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, during a telethon.
He noted that preparations for the operation to liberate the aggregate plant in Vovchansk lasted several weeks. According to Cherniak, the successful clearing of the plant's buildings is crucial for the further actions of the state's security and defense forces.
"This was necessary to simplify the logistics and support of our forces in this region as much as possible. In the future, this will allow the Defense Forces of Ukraine to carry out counteroffensive actions and drive the enemy from Ukrainian land," explained the intelligence officer.
Cherniak added that the Russians suffered serious losses during the battles, as the leaders of the occupiers effectively doomed their soldiers to death.
"In reality, terrible, wild, and strange things were happening there on the part of Russian commanders towards their subordinates. We are talking about deliberate killings, we are talking about terror. This is another example where a Russian soldier has no rights whatsoever and is not considered a human being at all," said the Main Intelligence Directorate representative.
This week, it became known that Ukrainian soldiers drove the Russians out of the aggregate plant in Vovchansk in the northern Kharkiv region. This was an operation by the Main Intelligence Directorate, which also involved fighters from the Russian Volunteer Corps.
A representative of the Russian Volunteer Corps stated that this was the first such operation during the full-scale war, as the soldiers liberated such a large fortified area for the first time.
The Main Intelligence Directorate also reported that the defenders managed to capture up to 20 Russians during the fighting in Vovchansk. According to the intelligence officers, the aggregate plant was significantly damaged, but it is possible to maintain defense there.
