The painting which was saved from the Maria Prymachenko Museum bombed by Russia "Flowers grew near the fourth power unit" was sold at auction for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for $ 500,000.
The starting price of the painting "Flowers grew around the fourth block" by the world-famous artist Maria Primachenko was $ 5,000. The auction winner was the participant â35, who offered $ 500,000 for the painting.
All funds from the auction will go to the Serhiy Prytula Charitable Foundation to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The painting âFlowers grew near the fourth power unitâ was created in 1990. Symbolically, the Russian invaders recently received a lethal dose of radiation near the fourth power unit of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.
The painting âFlowers grew near the fourth power unitâ from the series dedicated to the Chernobyl tragedy was donated by the family of collector Igor Ponamarchuk and art historian Daria Dobriyan, who are now volunteers at the Foundation. It's also know that the artistâs family supported the charity auction and waived royalties from the sale of the painting in favor of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
