During the meeting between the Minister of Finance of Ukraine, Serhiy Marchenko, and the Ambassador of the United States to Ukraine, Bridget Brink, a bilateral Agreement regarding the deferral of payments on the state debt was signed.
The conclusion of this Agreement was envisaged by the Memorandum of Understanding on the suspension of payments on the state debt with the group of official creditors of Ukraine from the G7 countries and the Paris Club.
"The signing of this Agreement will reduce the debt burden on the state budget and redirect the funds that were supposed to be paid for the repayment and servicing of debt obligations to the needs of the social and humanitarian sphere. We are grateful to our partners for their significant contribution to supporting macrofinancial stability and economic growth of Ukraine in conditions of war," emphasized Serhiy Marchenko, the Minister of Finance of Ukraine.
