The probable reason for this was a drone flying into Moldova's territory.

The Republic of Moldova has closed its airspace. According to the news agency Moldova Liberă, flights over the territory of a country neighboring Ukraine will be unavailable until 16:00 local time (the time zone is the same as Kyiv).

Chisinau's decision may be due to an unknown reconnaissance drone crossing the border from unrecognized Transnistria. There has yet to be an official confirmation of this information.

AirMoldova on its Facebook page, confirmed the closure of the airspace. It also became known that there would be changes in the flight schedule due to this incident.

"Dear passengers, those who are at the airport, onboard or going to fly today, please keep calm and follow the information panels at the airport online at www.airmoldova.md and www.airport.md," the company said in a statement.

In addition, Moldova Liberă reports that the flights that were supposed to arrive in Chisinau will land in the Romanian city of Iasi, which is not far from the border with Moldova. Flights from Moldova are still delayed.
