The Armed Forces of Ukraine returned Kherson and the right bank of the region under the control of Ukraine on November 11. Since then, the Russian army shelled the city and the region almost daily.
After the recent flight, the Russian invaders began to spread lies in the information space that supposedly the Armed Forces of Ukraine could leave Kherson, and it could again be occupied.
The head of the joint coordinating press center of the Defense Forces of the South of Ukraine, Natalia Humeniuk, denied such rumors on the air of the telethon and explained why Kherson continues to suffer from constant shelling. On the evening of December 2, the Russian military again fired on Kherson. Power grids were damaged, and as a result, the city was left without electricity. On December 3, the invaders hit the Kherson region 46 times. On December 7, the Russians fired 30 times on the territory of the Kherson region. On December 9, the Russians fired 51 times at the territory of the Kherson region from artillery, MLRS and mortars. On the afternoon of Saturday, December 10, Russian troops attacked Kherson again - they hit the maternity ward of the hospital. On Sunday morning, December 11, the city was already shelled 4 times. December 13, Kherson was attacked 42 times.
"As soon as it becomes known that some objects in the Kherson region have been restored, they begin to increase their fire influence in this direction. The Russians also create information fakes that the Defense Forces are allegedly not able to give an adequate response. But there are results, a very powerful response is provided; the Defense Forces hit several places of accumulation of enemy equipment, and this greatly undermined the enemy's combat capability. But the fact that he will continue to shell the right bank and, in particular, settlements that are located very close to the water an adequate reality of this war. And if possible, we really need the residents to evacuate from these settlements," she explained.
According to her, the Southern Defense Forces adequately respond to the attacks that the enemy allows himself in the direction of the right bank of the Kherson region.
"We have warned the local population that such attacks will most likely occur. Our job now is not to allow the enemy to get as close as possible to those distances along the left bank from which they can inflict defeat. But still, there are a lot of them, the area is large, and they can still afford, based on the performance characteristics of the weapons from which they are made, these are mortars, and MLRS, heavy cannon artillery, they are trying to continue to put pressure, committing fire and man-made terror," she summed up.
