NIBULON has begun using the fleet of the Ukrainian Danube Shipping Company. The first barge convoy departed from Izmail to the Romanian port of Constanta with 9,000 tons loaded at the grain terminal operated by NIBULON.
"The Ukrainian Danube Shipping Company has sufficient fleet reserves to meet the transportation needs of our partners," stated officials from the shipping company.
The Danube export route serves as an alternative to Odessa ports, with Danube grain logistics capable of competing under conditions offering a 30% discount on rail transport to Izmail.
"Interest in developing Danube logistics should not be limited to Ukraine alone. Therefore, we continue working with Romanian partners on abolishing canal fees, pilotage charges, port tariffs, and conditions for anchorage use in Constanta port," noted the Ukrainian Danube Shipping Company.
In Ukraine, fees for vessel lockage on the Dnieper have been eliminated to foster inland navigation, alongside the cancellation of charges for passage through the Buzko-Dniprovsko-Lymanskyi Canal and pilotage for domestic vessels. Similar practices exist in the EU on the Rhine River.
