Press Secretary of the Southern Defense Forces of Ukraine Natalia Humenyuk revealed details of the Russian attack during the night of March 25.
This was announced by the Press Secretary of the Southern Defense Forces of Ukraine, Natalia Humenyuk, during a telethon broadcast.
According to Humenyuk, the Russian attack was concentrated in the Odessa and Mykolaiv regions. Before the drone strike, the Russian forces launched a radar-guided missile in an attempt to neutralize air defense capabilities.
"Before the drone strike, the enemy was operating tactically with aviation and launched an X-31P radar-guided missile. It may have been destroyed in the air. Data is being verified," said Humenyuk.
The press secretary also spoke about the combat operations in the south of Ukraine.
"The combat operation lasted one and a half hours. In subsequent drone sorties from the Black Sea, the enemy focused on energy facilities. Four drones were destroyed in the Odessa and Mykolaiv regions," said Humenyuk.
In the Mykolaiv region, the Russian forces targeted an energy facility, causing a fire that was promptly extinguished by firefighters. There were no casualties. Additionally, a residential building was damaged by drone debris.
"Debris from the downed drone damaged a two-story residential building in the residential quarter of Mykolaiv. Eleven people were injured, and they received medical assistance. Three people, according to preliminary data, are hospitalized," reported Humenyuk.
According to the press secretary, the Russian forces, while targeting objects for destruction, directed drones among residential buildings, hence the potential for such damages from combat operations.
