Tonight, during an aerial attack, Russian forces launched 16 kamikaze drones and ballistic missiles at Ukraine. Defense forces destroyed almost all combat drones.
This information was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Telegram channel of the commander of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Mykola Olekschuk.
In the morning summary at the military command, it was noted that:
"During the night, Russian forces once again attacked Ukraine, using 16 Shahed-type UAVs. The forces and means of Ukraine's air defense destroyed 15 of these combat UAVs," the General Staff reported.
However, the enemy used not only 'Shaheds' but also ballistic missiles. As General Olekschuk explained, this night, Russian forces also attacked Ukraine with 2 'Iskander-M' ballistic missiles from the Belgorod region (Russia).
He specified that the enemy launched 16 combat drones from Cape Chauda (Crimea) and the Kursk region (Russia).
"The air defense missile units of the Air Force and the mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces of Ukraine repelled the attack, and electronic warfare assets were engaged," the general noted.
The commander of the Armed Forces also stated that during this night, defenders of the sky shot down 15 'Shahed' drones in four regions: Mykolaiv, Odessa, Kyiv, and Cherkasy regions.
