Norway plans to open an office in Kyiv to assist Norwegian businesses interested in participating in Ukraine's reconstruction, establishing connections with Ukrainian public and private sectors, and exploring opportunities.
This was announced by the Norwegian Ministry of Trade in a statement reported by European Pravda.
The office, potentially staffed by just one key individual, is designed to serve as a hub for Norwegian companies to access available tools and build relationships to begin operations in Ukraine. It will coordinate efforts with the Norwegian Embassy and other Nordic partners.
Trade and Industry Minister Jan Christian Vestre stated that Norway aims to launch the office as soon as possible and is currently considering the best way to organize its operations.
"The business community wanted a presence in Kyiv—someone who can provide support and coordinate efforts for Norwegian businesses. This will be an important addition to all the great work already done by Norwegian entrepreneurs for Ukraine," said the minister.
The ministry recalled that in September, Minister Vestre led a large delegation of Norwegian business representatives to Kyiv and also participated in a significant business delegation at the Ukraine Reconstruction Conference in Warsaw.
In late November, Norway’s parliamentary parties supported increasing aid to Ukraine to 35 billion Norwegian kroner ($3.16 billion) in 2025.
