Odessa firefighters received four special off-road trucks from a famous US charitable foundation, as reported by Militarnyi.

The State Emergency Service of Ukraine confirmed the equipment was donated by the Howard G. Buffett Foundation. The trucks will be distributed to firefighters in the Odessa region, who do not have this type of equipment, which is extremely necessary to respond efficiently to fires and emergencies.

In total, since the beginning of the Russian invasion, foreign donors have provided the Odessa garrisons with 36 fire trucks, along with 10 off-road pickup trucks and 5 pneumatic structure tents with an autonomous heating and air conditioning system.

The Buffett family has been actively supporting Ukraine with humanitarian aid, since the first year of war. The Howard Buffett Foundation has spent more than $500 million helping Ukraine since February 2022. In 2023, the Foundation donated mine-clearing equipment and working dogs to Ukrainian rescue workers.

Howard Buffett, son of the 5th richest man in the world, investor Warren Buffett, has visited many places where armed conflicts occur as part of his charitable foundation. But no country impressed him more than Ukraine.

“I have seen conflicts in Sudan, Burundi, Congo and other countries. It's cruel. But in Ukraine this is a deliberate attempt to destroy the country. The losses that Ukraine will suffer will have an impact on the whole world,” he said in an interview.

The philanthropist has personally visited Ukraine many times. He reached Odessa in March 2023.
