There is no question of the withdrawal of Russian troops from the western bank of the Dnieper in the Kherson region, in the south of Ukraine; on the contrary, Putin ordered to defend Kherson at any cost, so the enemy will fight there to the last soldier.
Ukrainian military expert Oleg Zhdanov stated this.
"If the Ukrainians reach the Dniepr, the entire Zaporizhia front will fall to the Perekop Isthmus," Zhdanov noted.
According to him, the Ukrainian side should not count on a quick and easy restoration of control over Kherson. Rather, long, exhausting battles should be expected there.
The Ukrainian counteroffensive continues in the northern part of the Kherson region. In recent weeks, the Russian occupation authorities ordered the evacuation of civilians from Kherson. Some institutions from Moscow are also being transferred to the eastern bank of the Dnieper. According to the reports of the Ukrainian authorities, as well as, in particular, the Ministry of Defense of Great Britain, the Russians expect battles in the city.
