The situation in eastern Ukraine remains "complex," stated the commander of the Eastern military group, Oleksandr Syrskyi.
Syrskyi held a meeting with the commanders of units defending the Eastern direction. The command "analyzed the situation and considered options for further actions," he said.
"The operational situation in the east remains complex. The enemy continues offensive actions along the entire front," Syrskyi noted.
During the meeting, the commander of the Eastern military group and unit commanders "approved necessary decisions and took measures to ensure the stability of our defense, preserve the lives of Ukrainian soldiers, and rational use of ammunition."
The epicenter of the fighting in the east remains Avdiivka, Kupyansk, and Bakhmut.
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, there were 60 combat clashes over the past day. On the Avdiivka front, the Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to restrain the Russian army, which persists in attempting to encircle Avdiivka. Ukrainian forces maintain their defense, inflicting significant losses on the Russian Federation. The defending forces successfully repelled 19 attacks in the areas east of Novobakhmutivka, Avdiivka, Tonenke, and Pervomaiske in the Donetsk region.
