For over a year, mandatory evacuation of the population of Donetsk Region has been taking place. Since August 2022, more than 97 thousand citizens, including over 12.5 thousand children and more than 4.5 thousand people with limited mobility, have relocated to safe regions.

Currently, mandatory evacuation from Donetsk is carried out by a special train to Zhytomyr Region once every 8 days on even dates. Upon arrival, evacuees receive financial assistance from the state, amounting to UAH 3,000 for children and persons with disabilities, and UAH 2,000 for adults.
In Zhytomyr Region, internal migrants are accommodated in free shelters, where they are provided with humanitarian, legal, and psychological assistance.
