As part of the Czech initiative and other efforts, partners plan to provide Ukraine with 2 million large-caliber ammunition units and 22 million medium-caliber units.
This was stated by Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala during the opening of a meeting of Czech ambassadors in Prague.
Fiala assured that the Czech Republic will continue to support Ukraine and emphasized Prague's initiative to procure ammunition for Ukraine from third countries with funds from Western donors.
“We are delivering tens of thousands of large-caliber ammunition units to Ukraine each month. We have agreed that, not only within the Czech initiative but also other initiatives that we coordinate, we will provide 2 million large-caliber ammunition units and 22 million medium-caliber units,” said the Czech Prime Minister.
He described the initiative as very successful and at the same time extremely complex from a logistical perspective. “Ukraine can count on these supplies,” Fiala stated.
According to him, the Czech government will encourage its businesses to work with Ukraine, seek funding for projects in Ukraine, and offer its expertise in areas such as energy, infrastructure, and medicine. The Czech Republic is interested in Ukraine continuing to function as a state and as an economy, Fiala emphasized.
He added that the reconstruction in the country should begin as soon as possible.
