Polish Foreign Minister Zbigniew Rau said that NATO could send troops to Ukraine if the Russian Federation uses nuclear weapons.

This was discussed in his interview on RMF FM radio.

According to Rau, in the event of a possible Russian nuclear strike on Ukraine, the response of NATO countries would probably "come down to the generally accepted response in Ukraine". US national security adviser Jake Sullivan would as present it.

The Minister noted that in such a scenario, the introduction of NATO troops into the territory of Ukraine cannot be ruled out, but "this will not be a necessary procedure." Thus, Allian may limit himself to the use of conventional weapons - aviation or missiles, and "not necessarily from Ukrainian territory."
