From February 24, 2022, about 7 million 500 thousand people from Ukraine arrived in Poland. During this time, the number of people who left in the opposite direction reached almost 5 million 700 thousand.
Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs and Administration of Poland Maciej WÄ sik said that the Polish government is preparing measures in case of a new wave of refugees from Ukraine.
On the air of the Third Channel of Polish Radio, the politician emphasized that the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, is deliberately destroying the civil infrastructure of Ukraine. So the Polish government is preparing for a new wave of Ukrainian refugees:
"As the government, we are preparing for this. PaweÅ Szefernaker, the deputy minister of affairs, is responsible for these issues," said Maciej WÄ sik.
The official noted that Poland provides a lot of help to refugees from Ukraine, especially women and children. He also emphasized that the majority of people who came from Ukraine to Poland from February 24, 2022, legally got a job, pay taxes and supported the Polish economy.
