Farmers have suspended their protest action in Gzhehotka. Farmers from the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship blocked the border crossing last Wednesday, March 20, allowing one car to pass per hour.
The farmers are surprised by the amount of goods entering the European Union from Russia. Jezhy Salitra from the board of the Warmian-Masurian Agricultural Chamber explains,
"The European Union has not yet made a decision to ban the import of grain from Russia to the Community. Despite the condemnation of Russia's attack on Ukraine by countries, trade with Russia continues. They transport a lot of things, including gas and not only liquefied; one driver said he was transporting methane."
However, the organizers of the protest announced that they are ending the border blockade due to the upcoming Easter holidays. Previously, the protesters were more determined, announcing the blockade of the Russian border for at least a month.
