President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, has arrived in Kyiv. This was announced by the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, Ruslan Stefanchuk, on Facebook.
He reminded that today Ukraine celebrates Europe Day.
"Our country reaffirms its commitment to the ideals and values of democracy every day. Ideals and values ââfor which the brave, courageous, and unyielding Ukrainian people fight! For the right to be free! For our independence and sovereignty," emphasized Stefanchuk. "On this important day, I am pleased to welcome President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, to Kyiv"
According to Stefanchuk, the European Parliament is undoubtedly at the forefront of supporting Ukraine, being the first EU institution to advocate for granting Ukraine candidate status for EU membership.
"The European Parliament has always had a strong voice when it comes to creating an international coalition to support our struggle for freedom and European values, when it comes to supplying weapons to Ukraine and strengthening sanctions pressure against Russia. And Ukraine will always appreciate this," said the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada.
