Ruslan Kravchenko has reported on the results of his first year in office as Prosecutor General.
“One year as Prosecutor General. For some, the results may seem significant; for others, insufficient. They can be assessed in different ways. For me, they are not enough,” the post states.
According to Kravchenko, since June 2025, a total of 72,295 crimes related to Russia’s aggression have been registered and are under investigation in Ukraine, including 68,900 war crimes. Notices of suspicion have been issued to 349 individuals, 258 cases have been referred to court, and 97 guilty verdicts have been delivered. During the same period, 357 criminal proceedings concerning crimes against children were registered, resulting in 81 convictions, 18 of which carry life imprisonment sentences.
At the same time, the living and upbringing conditions of 66,700 children, 410 institutions, and 2,400 families were inspected. A total of 591 children were removed from dangerous living conditions. In connection with crimes against children, 540 criminal proceedings were opened against officials, parents, and guardians.
In the area of combating crimes involving public finances, losses totaling UAH 14 billion were identified over the year, and more than 2,000 indictments were referred to court.
Regarding violations in the defense sector, 408 lawsuits totaling UAH 42.6 billion were filed during the year. The state recovered UAH 3.6 billion over the same period. In completed criminal proceedings involving the embezzlement of budget funds and property, unlawful payments, fraud involving military medical commissions (VLCs), bribery, draft evasion, and the theft of volunteer aid intended for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, damages amounting to UAH 3.481 billion were established. To date, UAH 2.8 billion has been recovered for the state.
To protect state interests in the environmental sector, lawsuits totaling UAH 7.5 billion were filed during the year.
Following an audit of business-related criminal proceedings conducted since June 2025, 26,818 cases were identified, of which 9,716 were closed. Pre-trial investigations are ongoing in 15,303 proceedings, within which 4,263 expert examinations have been ordered. A total of 1,867 cases have been referred to court.
During this period, businesses were returned cash in various currencies totaling more than UAH 80 million, as well as precious metals, vehicles, machinery, and equipment.
In addition, the Office of the Prosecutor General transferred funds and property worth more than UAH 1.3 billion to support the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
