At the site of Donetsk airport, infrastructure is being developed for the deployment of remotely controlled drones of the Shahed and Gerbera types.

This was reported by the CyberBoroshno, a group of independent military analysts.

Near the ruined "new" terminal, enclosed storage areas for these drones are being constructed. At the same time, manual control stations, unloading points for combat units, decoy positions, air observation posts, and a runway are being prepared.

According to our information, these UAVs are planned to be used not only as kamikaze drones—there are other scenarios which we do not disclose for confidentiality reasons. The use of rocket-modified versions of the Shahed drones is also expected.

“These drones will be used not only in kamikaze roles. There are other operational scenarios we are not disclosing for security reasons. Russia is also preparing to deploy jet-powered versions of the Shahed,” CyberBoroshno said.

Currently, this concerns the operational zone within Donetsk region.
