Millions of hectares of nature reserves in Ukraine are under threat.


The Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Oleksiy Reznikov, named the amount of damage caused to the ecology of our country as a result of a full-scale war between Russia and Ukraine. They are estimated at 35.3 billion dollars.

According to the head of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine on Twitter, millions of hectares of nature reserves are under threat.

According to the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal, as of June 1, 2022, the amount of damage caused to the Ukrainian economy amounted to $350 billion. At the same time, by the end of 2022, losses could reach $700 billion.

In addition, due to the war, losses and lost revenues of the creative industries amount to more than $15 billion. Minister of Culture and Information Policy Olexander Tkachenko stressed that as a result of the war, more than 1.1 thousand cultural objects were damaged or destroyed, of which more than 500 are cultural heritage sites.
