Russia launched more than 80 drones against Ukraine overnight

On the night of October 23, the Russian Federation (RF) launched 82 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) against Ukraine, as well as a guided aviation missile Kh-31P. The air defense forces managed to destroy 57 drones.

This was reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).

According to the Air Force, on the night of October 23, the Russian forces launched:

  • 81 Shahed-type drones and UAVs of unspecified types, which were launched from the directions of Primorsk-Akhtarsk and Kursk in Russia;
  • a guided aviation missile Kh-31P from the Black Sea.

The missile was used to attack the Odessa region.

The following were involved in repelling the airstrike:

  • aviation;
  • anti-aircraft missile troops;
  • electronic warfare units;
  • mobile fire groups of the Air Force and the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

As of 09:00, the downing of 57 drones has been confirmed in Odessa, Mykolaiv, Vinnytsia, Sumy, Cherkasy, and several other regions. In particular:

  • 15 drones are currently location-lost;
  • up to 9 UAVs are being observed in the airspace of Ukraine.
