Russian forces continued attacks across multiple Ukrainian regions over the past day, killing civilians, injuring dozens, and damaging residential buildings and infrastructure, according to regional authorities.
In the Zaporizhzhia region, two civilians were wounded as a result of shelling. The head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, Ivan Fedorov, reported that Russian forces carried out 795 strikes on 29 settlements over the past 24 hours. These included 13 airstrikes, 438 drone attacks, four MLRS strikes, and 340 artillery strikes. Regional authorities received 43 reports of damage to homes and infrastructure facilities.
In the Kherson region, one person was killed due to Russian aggression, according to the head of the regional administration, Oleksandr Prokudin. Russian forces carried out drone attacks, airstrikes, and artillery shelling on Kherson and more than 20 surrounding settlements. Ten private houses and a privately owned vehicle were damaged. Prokudin also noted that three people were evacuated on January 15 from communities liberated from Russian occupation.
In the Dnipropetrovsk region, Russian troops attacked the Dniprovskyi, Synelnykivskyi, Nikopol, and Kryvyi Rih districts using drones and artillery. Infrastructure was damaged in several communities. In the Synelnykivskyi district, a drone strike on the Malomykhailivka community injured two people—a 41-year-old woman who was hospitalized in moderate condition and a 38-year-old man receiving outpatient treatment. Additional strikes damaged cars, private houses, garages, and caused fires.
In the Sumy region, Russian forces carried out more than 40 strikes on 27 settlements across 16 territorial communities between January 15 and January 16. One person was killed and 11 others were injured, the Sumy Regional Military Administration reported. A 35-year-old man was killed in the Bilopillia community following guided aerial bomb strikes. The injured included men and women aged between 26 and 62. The Sumy and Shostka districts saw the heaviest attacks, which involved artillery, mortars, FPV drones, UAVs, and guided aerial bombs. Numerous civilian facilities were damaged or destroyed, including schools, medical facilities, residential buildings, shops, and vehicles. Over the course of the day, authorities evacuated 12 residents from border communities with the support of emergency services and law enforcement.
Additionally, on January 15, Russian attacks targeted Kharkiv and 10 settlements in the Kharkiv region, injuring a civilian, according to Oleh Syniehubov, head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration. A 63-year-old woman was wounded in the village of Studenok in the Oskil community.
Russian forces attacked Kharkiv’s Slobidskyi district with drones, while an energy facility was struck in the Kharkiv district. The enemy used five MLRS strikes, seven guided aerial bombs, multiple UAVs, including Geran-2, Lancet, Molniya, and FPV drones.
Damage was reported in several communities: private houses were hit in Starovirivka, Cherniaky, Zarychne, and Oskil; a vehicle was damaged in Shevchenkove; electricity networks were damaged in Rozsokhuvate; and in Studenok, 10 private homes and an outpatient clinic were damaged.
