Russian forces launched a series of large-scale strikes on multiple Ukrainian regions over the past 24 hours, leaving several civilians dead, dozens injured, and widespread destruction to homes and infrastructure.
Kharkiv Region
Three settlements came under attack, according to the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov. The region was targeted with a Geran-2 kamikaze drone and an FPV drone. In Novomykolayivka, Kupiansk district, a warehouse building was damaged, while in Pidlyman, Izium district, five private houses sustained destruction.
Sumy Region
The Sumy Regional Military Administration reported over 90 strikes on 33 settlements from the morning of August 12 to the morning of August 13, with the heaviest attacks in Sumy and Shostka districts. Russian forces used multiple launch rocket systems, guided and unguided aerial bombs, FPV drones, and other UAVs. Civilian infrastructure in Bilopillia was hit, five homes were damaged in Seredyna-Buda, and two in Hlukhiv. Authorities evacuated 18 residents from border communities.
Donetsk Region
In Donetsk, two civilians were killed and ten injured in Kostiantynivka, said regional governor Vadym Filashkin. Since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion, official figures for the region — excluding Mariupol and Volnovakha — stand at 3,407 dead and 7,822 injured.
Dnipropetrovsk Region
In Nikopol district, drones and artillery fire struck both the district center and Pokrovske community. An apartment building and a car were damaged, and a fire broke out, according to regional governor Serhii Lysak.
Kherson Region
One person was killed and four injured in a wave of drone, artillery, and air attacks that hit dozens of settlements, including Kherson city, Antonivka, Beryslav, and Zelenivka. Damage was reported to an apartment building, five private homes, a cell tower, vehicles, and a garage, regional governor Oleksandr Prokudin confirmed.
Ukrainian authorities continue to stress that Russia’s strikes primarily target civilian areas, underscoring the urgent need for international support and air defense systems to protect communities.
