Russian forces continued attacks on multiple regions of Ukraine over the past day, leaving civilians wounded and causing widespread damage to residential buildings and infrastructure, regional authorities reported.
In the Kharkiv Region, four settlements came under Russian attack, resulting in injuries to four people, according to Regional State Administration head Oleh Syniehubov. In the village of Chervone, part of the Blyzniuky community, shelling wounded a 61-year-old woman, a 20-year-old man, and two girls aged 12 and 17. Russian forces used two Geran-2 drones and one FPV drone during the attacks. Damage was reported in several locations, including private houses, outbuildings, garages, vehicles, and power lines in Chervone, Zavadivske, Stetskivka, and Borova.
In the Kyiv Region, a Russian drone attack damaged two residential buildings in the Vyshhorod district, regional administration head Mykola Kalashnyk reported. Windows were shattered in two two-story buildings, though no casualties were recorded. Air defense systems were active in the area, and no damage to critical infrastructure was reported. Authorities said residents whose homes were damaged would receive assistance.
The Zaporizhzhia Region also suffered heavy shelling, with Russian forces striking 26 settlements over the past 24 hours and injuring six people, according to regional governor Ivan Fedorov. In total, 668 attacks were recorded, including 10 airstrikes, 426 drone attacks—mostly FPV drones—six multiple-launch rocket system strikes, and 226 artillery strikes. As a result, 107 reports of damage to homes, vehicles, and infrastructure facilities were received.
In the Kherson Region, eight people were injured during Russian drone attacks, airstrikes, and artillery shelling, regional head Oleksandr Prokudin said. Dozens of settlements, including Antonivka, Bilozerka, Beryslav, Stanislav, and the city of Kherson, came under fire. The attacks damaged private homes, a canine training center, a municipal enterprise, an outbuilding, a gas pipeline, a minibus, and a private car.
Russian forces also carried out nighttime strikes on two districts of the Dnipropetrovsk Region, damaging residential and commercial properties, according to acting regional governor Vladyslav Haivanenko. In the Nikopol district, FPV drones and artillery strikes damaged infrastructure, a five-story apartment building, three private houses, outbuildings, shops, and a power line. Additional drone and guided aerial bomb strikes in the Synelnykove district damaged a private house. No casualties were reported.
In the Donetsk Region, Russian shelling killed one civilian and wounded four others on December 16, according to regional governor Vadym Filashkin. The fatality occurred in Druzhkivka. Filashkin noted that the total number of casualties in the region since the beginning of the full-scale invasion has reached 3,769 killed and 8,605 wounded, excluding Mariupol and Volnovakha.
