Russian drone and missile strikes cause casualties across Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia region

As a result of Russian strikes on the Zaporizhzhia district, a woman and a man were injured. This was reported by the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, Ivan Fedorov.

“A 50-year-old woman and a 29-year-old man were wounded in an enemy attack on the Zaporizhzhia district. The Russians targeted the Komyshuvakha and Kushuhum communities with four aerial bombs (FAB) and FPV drones,” the post reads.

It is noted that the blast wave and shrapnel destroyed a garage, and a fire broke out — a car was completely burned. Doctors are providing medical assistance to the injured.

Poltava region

On the night of October 3, the Russian army carried out a combined missile and drone strike on the Poltava region, damaging energy infrastructure facilities. This was reported by the head of the Poltava Regional Military Administration, Volodymyr Kohut.

“Last night, the enemy conducted a massive combined attack on Poltava region using missiles and UAVs. There were impacts and falling debris at various locations. Energy infrastructure facilities were damaged,” the report reads.

In Poltava community, debris damaged a private residential property. In all cases, there were no casualties.

Mykolaiv region

In the Mykolaiv region, air defenses were active overnight. A fire broke out in the Bashtanka district due to debris from Russian  drones. This was reported by the head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, Vitaliy Kim.

According to him, two UAVs were neutralized overnight in the region. As a result of the combat operations and falling debris in Bashtanka district, a fire occurred, damaging an outbuilding. There were no casualties.

Yesterday, the enemy attacked the Ochakiv community six times with FPV drones and carried out two artillery strikes on the Kutsurub community. No casualties were reported.

Donetsk region

October 2, Russian forces killed one person and injured four others in the Donetsk region, according to the Donetsk Regional State Administration, Vadym Filashkin.

“On October 2, the Russians killed one resident of Donetsk: in Kostiantynivka,” the message reads.

Another four people in the region were injured over the course of the day.\

Kherson region

In the Kherson region, 5 people were injured over the course of the day as a result of Russian aggression, as reported by the head of the Kherson Regional State Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin.

According to him, the settlements of Antonivka, Zelenivka, Prydniprovsk, Naddnipryanske, Sadove, Komyshany, Bilozirka, Tomyna Balka, Novodmytrivka, Yantarne, Veletenske, Rozlyv, Kizomys, Dniprovske, Stanislav, Oleksandrivka, Sofiivka, Mykilske, Tokarivka, Beryslav, Tomaryne, Urozhayne, Shliakhove, Novoraisk, Osokorivka, Burgunka, Lvivske, Tyahynka, Odradokamyanka, Mykolaivka, Ukrainska, Mykhailivka, Vesele, Kozatske, and Kherson were subjected to enemy drone attacks, airstrikes, and artillery shelling.

Russian forces damaged two multi-story buildings and 11 private houses. 5 people were injured as a result of the attacks, Prokudin emphasized.

Dnipropetrovsk region

Russian forces attacked the Dnipropetrovsk region overnight with strike drones, causing fires in Dnipro, according to the head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, Serhiy Lysak.

“Last night, the enemy attacked the region with UAVs. There were loud explosions in Dnipro, and fires broke out in the city. Emergency services are extinguishing the flames,” the report reads.

In one of the settlements in Dnipro district, four private houses were damaged. In the Shakhtarsk community of Synelnykivsk district, a five-story building was damaged, with windows blown out. In Mezhivska community, which was hit by a morning strike, a local resident’s home caught fire.

Sumy region

Over the course of the day, from the morning of October 2 to the morning of October 3, Russian forces carried out 35 attacks on 19 settlements across eight territorial communities in the Sumy region, injuring three people, as reported by the Sumy Regional Military Administration.

The heaviest shelling was recorded in the Sumy and Shostka districts. Settlements in the Sumy, Mykolaiv-Khotyn, Yunakivka, Krasnopillia, Shostka, Esman, and Andriyashivka communities were hit by enemy strikes.

The Russian forces actively used guided aerial bombs, delivering more than 10 GAB strikes. They also carried out attacks with FPV drones, multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS), missile strikes, and UAV strikes across the Sumy region.

Civil infrastructure damage was reported as follows:

  • In Esman community, a private house was damaged.
  • In Shostka community, a civil infrastructure facility was damaged.
  • In Mykolaiv rural community, a private residential house was damaged.
  • In Sumy community, a private residential house was damaged.
  • In Andriyashivka community, private houses and outbuildings were damaged, and three people were injured, including an 8-year-old child.

Two women also sought medical help for acute stress reactions and received necessary assistance on site. During the day, local authorities, together with units of the State Emergency Service, National Police, and public organizations from border communities, evacuated four people. 

Air raid alerts in the region lasted a total of 18 hours and 22 minutes during the day.
