Russian troops are currently advancing from the eastern side of the Pokrovsk agglomeration and are actively pushing along the Pokrovsk-Kostiantynivka highway, which runs east of the city of Pokrovsk.
This was stated on a live broadcast by Viktor Trehubov, spokesperson for the Khortytsia operational-strategic group.
“They (the Russian forces) are now moving from the eastern side of the target — the Pokrovsk agglomeration — with very large forces, very actively advancing precisely along this Pokrovsk-Kostiantynivka highway, which runs east of the city of Pokrovsk and could give them two possibilities if they push strongly northward,” Trehubov said.
According to him, one possibility is to again try to bypass the city of Pokrovsk — the Pokrovsk agglomeration — but from the other side, from the eastern side of the agglomeration, or to move toward the city of Kostiantynivka and encircle it from the west. This could also be an opportunity for the Russian army to further advance north.
“In principle, any of these options is unpleasant; any of these options opens operational possibilities for them, so we need to prevent them from successfully making and developing such a breakthrough,” Trehubov emphasized.
