German software developer company Teamviewer announced that it became a victim of a cyberattack by the Russian hacker group APT29, also known as "Cozy Bear" or "The Dukes", as reported by Kfgo.

Western intelligence asserts that this group operates on behalf of Russian intelligence.

In March, Alphabet's cybersecurity division Mandiant claimed to have caught a hacking group attempting to trick "key German political figures" into opening a phishing email.

The German software developer, specializing in cloud technologies, stated in its announcement that the group gained access to its corporate IT environment but not to its product environment or customer data.
