Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov and Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kęstutis Budrys met in Kyiv to discuss strengthening defense-industrial cooperation and long-term support for Ukraine.

“I was pleased to meet with Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kęstutis Budrys. The key focus was long-term support for Ukraine and the development of defense-industrial partnership,” Umerov wrote on Facebook.

The ministers outlined joint priorities, including projects in air defense, long-range strike systems, armored vehicles, and ammunition production.

“Lithuania has already contributed to funding Ukraine’s long-range strike capabilities. We discussed further expanding cooperation in the deep strike domain,” Umerov added.

They also discussed prospects for joint procurement, localizing production, and utilizing the SAFE instrument for large-scale industrial projects.

A Ukrainian intelligence representative briefed the Lithuanian delegation on the current security situation.

“Russia is showing no signs of readiness for a lasting ceasefire — on the contrary, it continues to escalate. That’s why increasing sanctions pressure is essential to compel the aggressor toward a just peace,” Umerov stressed.

He thanked the Lithuanian government, parliament, and people for their steadfast support. “Stronger together,” he concluded.
