South Korean Defense Minister Shin Won-sik has disclosed that North Korea transferred over 5 million artillery shells and dozens of short-range ballistic missiles to Russia for use in Moscow's war against Ukraine. This information was shared in an interview with the Japanese newspaper Yomiuri Shimbun, reported by Yonhap.
According to Shin, as of July 15, containers delivered from North Korea to Russia included approximately 5.2 million artillery shells and dozens of short-range ballistic missiles. These transfers have occurred since the strengthening of ties between Moscow and Pyongyang in September of the previous year.
Minister Shin Won-sik also reiterated Seoul's stance that South Korea's decision to supply weapons to Ukraine would depend on the extent and specifics of military cooperation between Moscow and Pyongyang, including the transfer of weapons and military technologies between Russia and North Korea.
