Spain plans to provide Ukraine with a military aid package worth 1.129 billion euros. The announcement of this aid will be made during Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's visit to Madrid.
According to El Pais, sources indicate that this is an unprecedented amount of military assistance from Spain to Ukraine or any other country.
Unlike previous years, most of the materials will not come from military stockpiles but will be specially produced by Spanish industry.
The new aid package will include the supply of a second batch of Patriot anti-aircraft missiles capable of intercepting cruise missiles, which Russia uses to destroy Ukraine's critical infrastructure.
Additionally, 19 older Leopard 2A4 battle tanks will be supplied in addition to the ten Leopard 2A4 tanks delivered last year.
Ukraine is expected to receive the aid package by June 30.
