The Security Service of Ukraine detained another coordinator of Russian attacks on Ukrainian energy infrastructure. The suspect turned out to be a 16-year-old resident of Kropyvnytskyi, who, on the orders of the FSB, was preparing a missile strike on the local thermal power plant.

According to case materials, the agent was supposed to install a GPS tracker disguised as snow on the territory of the power plant. The Russians planned to use it to strike the energy facility, aiming to leave the local community without electricity and heating.

SSU officers uncovered the Russian plot in advance and caught the suspect “red-handed” at night near the plant’s fence, where she attempted to activate the digital “beacon.”

Investigations revealed that the Russian intelligence agency involved the minor in criminal activity through a Telegram channel offering “easy earnings.”

Initially, the Russian forces assigned her a “test task”: to film military and critical infrastructure objects and send the footage to the FSB.

After that, the agent received instructions from her handler to prepare a missile strike on one of the largest thermal and power generation facilities in the region.

The money to buy the GPS tracker was transferred to her personal bank card from Russia. She then ordered the device online, paid for it, and picked it up at the post office.

During searches, SSU officers seized a smartphone from the detainee containing evidence of her work for the FSB.

The Security Service investigators charged the agent under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (high treason committed under martial law).

The suspect is in custody and faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
