The head of the Anti-Terrorist Center of the SSU was found to be working for Russian forces.

SSU Chief Vasyl Maliuk reported that 14 instances of the mole’s illegal activities were documented. He personally took part in the investigative team that uncovered the traitor and led the operation to detain him. Throughout the operation, Maliuk directly reported each stage to the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

“This was an extremely complex operation involving multiple strategic steps. We utilized all possible overt and covert methods, along with a full range of operational and technical measures. Through encrypted software implants, we infiltrated the traitor’s devices—mobile phones, computers. We were essentially living alongside him, conducting audio and video surveillance. This allowed us to thoroughly document the collection and transmission of classified information to the enemy,” Maliuk stated.

Additionally, through the mole, the SSU fed Russian forces disinformation for an extended period—first as part of counterintelligence measures, then within a criminal case framework.

“The SSU’s internal cleansing continues. No matter how the enemy tries to infiltrate our ranks, thinking they have mastered all forms of secrecy, we will expose, document, and detain them in time,” Maliuk emphasized.

Further details of the operation will be revealed soon.
