Special operations unit Alpha of the Security Service of Ukraine struck the “Vtorovo” and “Lobkovo” oil pumping stations in Russia’s Vladimir region, the SSU reported.
The Ukrainian Security Service stated that the distance to the targets is approximately 700 km.
“The main purpose of these stations is to pump diesel fuel into the Moscow Ring Oil Products Pipeline, as well as to transport petroleum products for export to Baltic Sea ports, in particular through the Primorsk oil loading port,” the statement said.
The agency reported that local authorities confirmed fires at both infrastructure sites following drone strikes by the SSU, and according to NASA FIRMS data, thermal anomalies indicating fires were recorded in the areas where both oil pumping stations are located.
“Strikes on such facilities are of strategic importance, as they are key links in Russia’s fuel logistics. Disruption of oil pumping stations complicates fuel supply to industrial centers and military infrastructure, and also negatively affects petroleum exports. Each such strike reduces the aggressor state’s resource capacity and cuts revenues that the Kremlin directs toward its war against Ukraine,” the Ukrainian security service concluded.
