Since August 2023, 302 vessels have exported products from Ukrainian agrarians and other goods to 24 countries worldwide through the maritime corridor in the Black Sea.
According to the Ministry of Restoration, a total of 10 million tons of goods have been exported through the Black Sea maritime corridor.
"Over the course of 4 months, the corridor has expanded the range of goods and started their export. The volume of agricultural products has significantly increased, from 278,000 tons in the first month to almost 5 million tons now," the statement says.
Despite Russia's systematic attacks on Ukrainian port infrastructure, the Ukrainian corridor is operational. The ports of Odessa region have accepted 337 new vessels for loading, with another 79 preparing to be received in the near future.
However, the issue of insurance remains unresolved, keeping insurance rates at a high level.
It is known that 20 billion UAH ($547 million) was allocated in the 2023 state budget to create an insurance fund, but these funds were not used. In the budget for the next year, the size of the insurance fund was reduced by 10 times to 2 billion UAH (at the expense of the reserve fund of the state budget).
