The Ministry of Defense has approved the delivery of the Swedish armored personnel carrier PbV 302.
Developed by Hägglund & Söner, this tracked combat vehicle was in service with the Swedish army until 2014 and was used in combat operations in Bosnia and Kosovo.
Weighing over 13 tons, the armored personnel carrier features wide tracks that distribute weight more evenly than a tractor. This design allows it to traverse difficult terrain, including soft and loose grounds such as marshes and sands, and to cross water obstacles.
Equipped with a 20mm Hispano-Suiza automatic cannon, which was also mounted on aircraft, the Swedish PbV 302 offers substantial firepower.
The vehicle also includes enhanced armor with internal anti-shrapnel lining and external ceramic elements. The frontal armor can withstand direct hits from 20mm rounds.
Powered by a 270-horsepower diesel engine, the tracked Swedish APC can reach speeds of over 60 kilometers per hour.
