Ukrainian Defense Forces have completed the search and destruction of the Russian forces forces in Sudzha, located in Russia's Kursk region. Since the beginning of the day, Ukrainian troops have advanced in the border areas of the Russian Federation.
This information comes from a statement by Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi.
"The Defense Forces continue their offensive operation in the Kursk region. Since the beginning of the current day, our troops have advanced in certain directions by one to two kilometers," the commander noted.
Syrskyi also emphasized that the search and elimination of the Russian forces in the settlement of Sudzha has been completed.
Additionally, Syrskyi reported that Ukrainian forces have captured more than 100 Russian soldiers as prisoners of war.
"I am grateful to everyone involved. This will accelerate the return of our boys and girls home," stated Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky during a conversation with Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi.
