Despite high casualties, the Russian aggressor forces continue their offensive towards Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region, according to the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Oleksandr Syrskyi, on Monday, July 22.

“I am working on the hottest sections of the Eastern Front. The enemy, despite a fairly high level of losses, continues to push towards Pokrovsk,” he noted.

According to him, intense battles are ongoing in Krasnohorivka, as well as in the areas of Prohres, Zalizne, Pivnichne, and Chasiv Yar.

"What can and must we do to stop the advance of a numerically superior enemy? The answer is clear: effective firepower against the enemy's main forces and reserves at long ranges, comprehensive damage to the enemy before the forward edge, maintaining well-prepared defensive positions and lines, and maximizing the effectiveness of all weapons and ammunition, especially combat drones, where we have an advantage. Additionally, mastering new methods to destroy the enemy's reconnaissance drones under conditions of a total shortage of short-range surface-to-air missiles, using only electronic warfare (EW) means and FPV drones,” he noted.
