The Russian Federation President's instruction, Vladimir Putin, on a ceasefire in Ukraine in connection with Christmas is "hypocrisy". This was stated by the adviser to the head of the office of the President of Ukraine, Mykhailo Podolyak, and called the condition under which Russia would receive a "temporary truce."
âKeep the hypocrisy to yourself,â wrote Mr. Podolyak on Twitter
Mr. Putin instructed to introduce of a ceasefire along the entire line of contact between the parties in Ukraine from 12:00 Moscow time on January 6 to 24:00 on January 7. The decision was made in connection with the call of Patriarch Kirill to establish a Christmas truce.
In addition, in a comment to journalists, the adviser to the head of the Presidential Office added that the statement about the alleged truce by the Russian Federation is an exclusively propaganda gesture and nothing more.
"Russia is trying in every possible way to at least temporarily reduce the intensity of battles and the intensity of attacks on its logistics centers to gain time for additional mobilization, the construction of large-scale fortifications in the occupied territories, and the regrouping of the army. This could not be done by one or another military means. Therefore, standard information tricks were used," he said.
In addition, according to Podolyak, Russia wants to show supposedly "humanistic approaches to the war" and still tries to convince the Europeans to put pressure on Ukraine.
"They have only one task: 'an immediate negotiating table, the adoption of a Russian ultimatum, a new line of division.'" This is the cynical meaning of Putin's instructions for a "temporary ceasefire." A banal trick,â said the adviser to the head of the OP.
Podolyak added that this does not have the slightest desire to end the war. He emphasized that only Russia attacks civilian objects, including places of religious rites, with rockets or drones, and does this precisely on Christmas holidays.
