The Armed Forces of Ukraine have made a tactical withdrawal.

This was reported by the spokesperson of the Joint Forces Operation "Tavria" Dmytro Lykhoviy during a telethon on February 27.

"On the Avdiivka direction, our units have withdrawn from the small villages of Siverske and Stepove," said Lykhoviy.

According to him, these settlements had up to 100 residents before the war. At the same time, fierce battles for Siverske continued since yesterday evening and throughout the night. The Russian forces suffered significant losses there.

He noted that while previously the adversary attempted to conduct assaults with small groups, now these assault groups have a strength of up to a platoon, and sometimes even a company.

Russian forces have not stopped at capturing Avdiivka and continue to advance with significant forces. The Russian army are pressing on the surrounding villages. In particular, on February 26, it became known that the Ukrainian Armed Forces withdrew from the settlement of Lastochkyne.
