The Armed Forces of Ukraine will soon begin testing guided air bombs of Ukrainian production. Chief of Aviation of the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Serhiy Holubtsov, announced this in an interview with Donbas Realities (a project of Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty).
"We are currently also working on retrofitting and creating our own guided bombs based on conventional free-fall bombs. There are some design nuances there; we need to select the wings, GPS module, and control module. In a few weeks, we are going to start the first tests of the first batches of such bombs, already of Ukrainian production," Holubtsov said.
According to him, currently, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine uses guided air bombs of Western production: GBU-39, GBU-62 of various calibers.
