The Cabinet of Ministers is converting the state enterprise “Forests of Ukraine” into a joint-stock company, while 100% of the shares will remain state-owned, Prime Minister Yuliya Svyrydenko reported.
“Today, at the government meeting, a number of decisions were made that are important for the stability and development of the forestry sector. The state enterprise ‘Forests of Ukraine’ is transitioning to a joint-stock company. We are doing this to ensure a more efficient corporate governance model with transparent reporting and to increase the enterprise’s competitiveness,” Svyrydenko wrote on her Telegram channel following the government meeting on Friday.
According to her, the transformation into a joint-stock company does not imply privatization — 100% of the shares will remain state-owned.
