The coalition of willing parties will meet on Tuesday to discuss progress on the future peace plan for Ukraine, which began with negotiations in Geneva and is based on the plan proposed by U.S. President Donald Trump.
The announcement was made on Monday in Brussels at a briefing by the European Commission’s Chief Spokesperson, Paula Pinho.
She confirmed that on Monday morning, an informal meeting of European Union leaders began in Angola to discuss the interim results of the negotiations held on Sunday in Geneva between the U.S., Ukraine, and representatives of the European Commission.
“We see that there is still much work ahead. We are ready to contribute. And in this context, let me also mention the extraordinary meeting of EU leaders taking place this morning, convened by the President of the European Council, António Costa. It began around 10:30 a.m. in a hybrid format in Angola. At this meeting, the next steps are being assessed, which will include tomorrow’s meeting of the coalition of the willing. So European engagement will continue on all fronts to ensure a fair and lasting peace for Ukraine,” Paula Pinho said.
According to her, the meeting of the coalition of the willing will be held via videoconference.
