The Czech Republic believes that the North Atlantic Alliance needs to develop a unified strategic approach to Russia.
This was stated by Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavský on Twitter.
He noted that "the Kremlin's Tzar" Vladimir Putin has indulged in his imperial dreams, aiming to create the world's strongest army and act without consequences.
The minister reminded that in 2014, agents of the Russian Main Intelligence Directorate blew up an ammunition depot in the Czech Republic, resulting in the deaths of two Czech civilians.
In 2018, the same Russian agents attempted to kill Sergei Skripal and his daughter in Salisbury using Novichok, Lipavský added.
"And just as the Kremlin treats its enemies abroad, it treats its own people. Just think of all the sneaky murders of opposition politicians or regime critics" the minister noted.
Furthermore, Lipavský mentioned that Putin considers the collapse of the Soviet Union as "the greatest geopolitical catastrophe of the century."
"Constant hybrid warfare. Cyber attacks. Lie-poisoned propaganda. Espionage under diplomatic cover. Russia is sowing seeds of chaos globally. I propose we come up with a credible strategic approach towards Russia. Because only a strong NATO can be the antidote to this chaos," he emphasized.
It should be noted that an informal meeting of NATO foreign ministers is taking place in Prague on May 30-31.
