From 8:30 p.m. on May 6 to 1:30 p.m. on May 7, the Russian forces launched an attack using five Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles from the directions of Kursk, Taganrog, and Bryansk, as well as several waves of attacks involving 187 strike UAVs and decoy drones of various types from the areas of Bryansk, Kursk, Oryol, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russia), and Hvardiiske (Crimea).
The Russian aerial assault was countered by Ukrainian Defence Forces using aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare systems, and mobile fire groups.
As of 2:30 p.m., two Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles and 81 Shahed-type strike UAVs (and other types of drones) were confirmed shot down over the east, north, south, and central regions of the country.
An additional 64 decoy drones were lost from radar tracking without causing any damage.
As a result of the attack, the regions of Kyiv, Sumy, Zhytomyr, Donetsk, and Zaporizhzhia were affected.
