The government of the United Kingdom will support British defense companies that are specifically providing assistance to Ukraine.
This was stated by the British Defense Minister Grant Shapps on Twitter.
According to him, British defense companies ensure the security of the country and also help countries like Ukraine defend their freedom, acting as global players on behalf of the United Kingdom.
"We’ll back them all the way against those who want to defund the industry due to so-called ethical investing rules that are not only immoral but dangerous," the minister said."
Earlier, Grant Shapps reassured that Britain, together with its allies, will continue to provide Ukraine with 'what it needs for victory.'
In September of this year, it was revealed that the British defense company BAE Systems is ready to assist Ukraine in manufacturing spare parts for lightweight towed 105mm howitzers, the L119.
The company's CEO, Charles Woodburn, stated that setting up production in Ukrainian facilities could be achieved within a few months.
The production of components for the lightweight howitzer on existing facilities in Ukraine is seen as the initial stage, with the subsequent deployment of manufacturing more complex weapons.
