The Honorary Consulate of Ukraine in Japan has begun operations in the city of Kobe. It is headed by Yoshihiko Okabe, president of the Association of Ukrainists and a professor at Kobe Gakuin University.
This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
"The opening of the Honorary Consulate is a continuation of the MFA of Ukraine's policy to expand our presence in the world, promote cultural and educational exchange, and strengthen ties with international partners," the foreign ministry noted.
The MFA also added that the consulate, located on the university's premises, highlights the importance of educational and cultural cooperation between Ukraine and Japan.
