The international conference "Restoring Justice for Ukraine" will take place on April 2 as part of the World Forum in The Hague.
This was announced on the website of the Dutch government.
"On April 2, 2024, the Netherlands, Ukraine, and the European Commission will jointly host the international conference 'Restoring Justice for Ukraine' at the World Forum in The Hague," the statement said.
It is noted that ministers of foreign affairs and justice from various countries will be able to express their support for long-term efforts to combat impunity and compensate victims.
The purpose of the conference is, on the one hand, to consider significant progress in documenting and investigating crimes committed during the full-scale war. On the other hand, the conference aims to make progress on four of the ten points of President Zelensky's peace plan, in which the Netherlands plays a leading role. This includes supporting national investigation and prosecution of international crimes by Ukraine; investigating and prosecuting crimes at the international level, including the crime of aggression; compensation for damage caused; and international coordination, cooperation, and information exchange.
In addition to representatives from the Netherlands, Ukraine, the European Commission, and invited countries, representatives from the International Criminal Court, the Council of Europe, the Damage Registration, Eurojust, the International Center for Prosecution of Aggression against Ukraine (ICPA), a joint investigation group, and non-governmental organizations will participate in the event.
