The Kherson Art Museum has found a painting from its collection, previously stolen by Russian occupiers, in footage from a Russian TV channel.

The painting by Nadiia Andriieva, titled 'With a Doll' from the series 'My Daughter,' was spotted in footage from a Russian TV channel filmed in August 2023 at the Central Museum of Taurida.
Artist Nadiia Andriieva primarily worked in lino printing, etching, woodcut, autolithography, and screen printing. The museum's collection also included two other works from the 'My Daughter' series, which the museum staff suspects are also stored on shelves of an improvised storage facility in the concert hall of the Crimean museum.
Russian forces looted the Kherson Art Museum in the fall of 2022. The total number of illegally transported artworks exceeds 10,000 museum exhibits.
Currently, museum staff have managed to identify 122 paintings stolen from Kherson during the occupation. Most of them are located in the Central Museum of Taurida in occupied Crimea. The exact location of one other piece is still unknown, but the occupiers have confirmed that it is in their possession.
