"Little Lithuania" is the name of a café located in a non-touristy area of old Odessa, on Staroportofrankivska Street. The owner of the establishment is Mr. Mindaugas, a Lithuanian who lived and worked in Britain for many years but once came on vacation to our city.
"This is the first restaurant serving Lithuanian cuisine in the city," commented the owner.
The dishes come from different regions but only partially give an idea of Lithuanian cuisine, which is actually very diverse. The menu is abundant in numerous gastronomic intersections of Ukrainian and Lithuanian cuisines, reminding us that some of our modern territories were once part of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania.
The menu mainly consists of traditional Lithuanian dishes served in large portions (400–500 grams). They offer, among others, cepelinai with white mushrooms and onions (a dish made of potato dough), didžkukuliai with cheese and greens (boiled dumplings), and kugelis with chicken fillet and cracklings (potato pudding). The bar serves cider, alcoholic cocktails, and lemonades.
The establishment is located in the Moldavanka district. It features two halls and a view of the square.
